When you book your place at camp, you will fill out information that will inform us of any physical, social or medical needs your child may have.
On the day you should bring:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

- packed lunch with plenty of snacks and water (we run a \u201cnut-free\u201d policy, so please no food containing nuts)
- a change of clothes, if you feel necessary.
We recommend in the hot weather to supply an ice cooler\/pack in their lunchboxes. <\/strong><\/p> <\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n \r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/span>\r\n My child is a little shy, will they be ok at camp?<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n We understand children are all totally different from each other but we also know that all children thrive in a caring and nurturing environment. At camp we create a really warm atmosphere where all children are made to feel super welcome and included.\r\n\r\nThe magical nature of our camp tends to alleviate any nerves the children may have, from the moment they walk through the doors and see all the wonderful leaders dressed up! <\/div>\r\n \r\n
\r\n \r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/span>\r\n What if my child is upset when I leave them at camp?<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

All children who attend really do love our camp, but we know there can be times when a child may feel reluctant to let their parent go at the start, especially if it\u2019s their first time. If this occurs, usually we allow a parent to stay around initially for 5 minutes or so and help the child settle, but unfortunately for this summer camp, under the current guidelines, parents will not be permitted into the hall.<\/p>\r\n

We are very experienced and 99% of the time your child will quickly settle in and thoroughly enjoy the rest of their day.<\/p>\r\n

We fully appreciate it\u2019s not nice to leave your child like this, but in our experience, their reluctance is mostly due to them being overwhelmed rather than truly upset. Once they see the day unfolding and how much all the other kids are loving it too, they really do find themselves having a wonderful time! In the highly unlikely event your child does not settle at camp, we will of course contact you.<\/p> <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n <\/div>\n

Kate and Ben are the leaders of camp and have extensive experience of working with children.<\/p>\n

They are assisted by a team of brilliant staff. Anyone who works at camp will have undergone a thorough interview and vetting process and have an advanced DBS check.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Most of the staff who work with Kate and Ben are also teachers or entertainers themselves.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n <\/div>\n

Illness or accidents at camp<\/h3>\n

\r\n \r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/span>\r\n What if my child feels ill or has an accident at camp?<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n

We are totally prepared at camp and always have qualified first aiders who are able to deal very effectively with minor incidents or health concerns, such as small knocks or grazes and so on. An accident form is always filled out and a parent is notified upon collecting their child. Should a child suffer a more serious injury or fall ill during camp, you will be notified immediately.<\/p>\r\n

If a child tells us they feel ill during their day at camp, they will be taken to an isolation space with a member of staff and have their temperature taken. If their temperature reads outside of the normal parameters then the parent and emergency contact will be called and the child will have to be collected.<\/p>\r\n

If their temperature reads as normal\u00a0 but they are displaying other obvious signs of illness, we will also phone the parent\/emergency contact and require the child to be collected.<\/p>\r\n

We would then ask that you monitor your child at home. If anything develops that render it possible your child may have coronavirus, we will not be able to accept your child back at camp until they have had a coronavirus test with negative results and your child feels better.<\/p>\r\n

If the test comes back positive we would please ask you to inform us so we can notify the entire camp.<\/p>\r\n

If your child's temperature reads as normal and they do not seem to display any other symptoms of illness (other than the fact they tell us they feel unwell) we will then ask them a series of questions to better understand why they are complaining of being ill. In our experience, especially with the younger ones, they can some times complain of feeling ill for other reasons such as being tired, missing a parent, needing the toilet, feeling hot and bothered etc. In this case, if we feel the problem is likely to not be illness, we will happily continue with the child at our camp and keep a close eye on them throughout the rest of the day.<\/p>\r\n

We will still call the parent to let them know this has occurred but won't expect the child to be collected at that time. We will notify the parent if anything changes.<\/p> <\/div>\r\n \r\n

If your child is ill then unfortunately we cannot accept them into our camp.<\/p>\r\n

If any other member of your household is ill, displaying symptoms that may be coronavirus, we would ask that you please do not send you child to camp, even if they are feeling totally well with no symptoms.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

If your child has a temporary other condition such as ear infection for example, but they do not actually feel unwell in any way, then we can accept them into our camp. If they are on antibiotics for such a condition, we can administer this at camp.<\/p> <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n <\/div>\n

If Government guidelines change and we are not permitted to run our Summer camp, then you will be entitled to a 100% monetary refund. If you wish to cancel your dates for personal reasons, you will be given a credit to use for any other day(s) this summer or to use at any camp for 1 year.<\/p> <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n <\/div>\n
